washed up perception.
I am back after my first biweekly break yesterday. I have decided to take a day off from this blog after every two weeks. This is largely to get a perspective on where things are going and how I performed in those last two weeks. I have something to confess though: yesterday’s break was not pre-planned. Coincidentally, it was just the day after this blog’s two-week anniversary and I happened to miss my schedule due to early morning obligations and then getting stuck up the rest of the day.
There is a certain veil I am walking the city with these days. The problem refuses to go away. Whatever I see in this city, my brain seems not to actually see it but abstract it away as something already seen before. This is difficult to avert and it takes real conscious effort to break through this calcification of perception towards your surroundings. This is tragic because when I was not here in Bombay and even after I arrived here, this city to me symbolised a certain magic in the way the world functioned. The magic leaked here most of other places. I came to love it.
This feeling and freshness is now largely gone quantified by the lack of poetry I produce. Perceptions decalcify in upcoming weeks. Listen.
See you tomorrow,
Avi.
